ESS Meeting on 11th

Hi! This is Yumiko.
I'll talk about the meeting last night.

(1)Ms. SUZUKI informed us of another universities' ESS!

- Please check below URL -

After that, we did some activities!

(2)Warm-up: The game "Magical Banana"
It's like a word-association game.

For example...
Person A: "Banana is yellow."
Person B: "Yellow is a tennis ball."
Person C: "A tennis ball is circle."
People need to connect words with their imagination!!!

(3)Storytelling: Writing stories
We made stories by adding one sentence in turn.

We started with the sentence...
"There is an old lady in a mountain lodge."

- Story A -
There is an old lady in a mountain lodge.
She likes knitting all night.
One night, she ran out of yarn.
She cried and felt tired.
Therefore, she fell asleep under the big tree.
Then, one monster appeared and talked to her.
She was surprised at first, but she noticed the monster was crying.
She asked the monster why he was crying.
The monster said "I'm afraid of people. They can do anything."
The old lady said to the monster,
"Everyone has weak spot, so you don't be afraid."
After that, the monster stopped crying, and he gained confidence.

- Story B -
There is an old lady in a mountain lodge.
She lives there alone.
Her name is Heidi.
She likes playing with Peter.
Peter's birthday was coming soon.
She bought a present for him, but didn't tell him about it.
Peter doubts that she has a secret, and he is ready to get angry.
To collect evidence, he hired a detective.
The detective searched for Heidi.
Now Peter understands what she is doning,
so he apologizes for his thoughts, and
Heidi gives birthday present to Peter!

- Story C -
There is an old lady in a mountain lodge.
The old lady lives with two dogs.
The two dogs are really big.
The old lady likes to play with big dogs.
The dogs are very tomboyish and active!
So, old lady became very tired when she went stroll.
she went to bed earlier than usual.
All of a sudden, sge heard a loud noise.
"What's happened?" she thought.
She came closer to a window, and tried to listen tp the sound carefully.
She saw her family was there to celebrate her birthday!
She forgot about it, so she became so happy!

We really enjoyed game and storytelling!!
I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Thank you for reading my loooooong report.
